wireless modem connection?
1 Answers
My pc is in my bedroom however the telephone socket is downstairs, this means that when i want to connect to the internet i have to get out an extension cable. Is there any device i could use where i could use infrared signals or something to connect the socket to the modem, without the use of wires? I'm actuall going onto broadband shortly but would imagine that i will still have to use the extension cable?

A more complicated and expensive way to do this is to get a wireless modem/router (or even a wireless access point) when you get broadband & also a wireless PCI card/network adaptor for your PC. This chunk of hardware would sit at your phone socket broadcasting to your PC upstairs.
Personally, I'd stick with the extension cable/2nd phone socket as an alternative would be pretty pricey in comparison.
