Depends which hemisphere the grapes are growing jno, and of course the quality of the soil, but generally I would prefer south-facing as the chardonnay grapes used then display a minerality that is much more typical to fine white Burgundy which can be pleasurable in a good chardonnay.
If the soil is limestone then much can be achieved which improves its fruity essence, for example such wines present a lemon scented aroma with abundant varietal character, whilst on the palate, a round, creamy texture and ripe citrus flavours underscored by the minerality that arises from growing chardonnay on limestone soil.
I think Jayne probably just likes her Sauvignons and Chardonnays in a glass or straight from the bottle. And B00, well we all know what she likes.
