I have just paid my paper bill after about three months and think I have been UNDERCHARGED for the service. I only have a Saturday Delivery.
Without informing you how much a delivery is, how much do you pay?
I have two papers delivered on a Saturday, The Daily Mail and The Guardian, both of which are fairly bulky. Also I am about a mile from the newsagent so the paperboy has a fair walk, I guess.
Do paperboys receive a set wage or a commission on how many they deliver?
worked for the local rag and our delivery agents (not allowed to call them paper boys or girls anymore!!) got paid 6.8p per paper. if they had a long round which involved a lot of traveling then we would also put a couple of pounds "cycle allowance" on top of the wage just to boost it up a bit.
my daughter gets 10 to deliver 200 free newspapers a week but she has leaflets too she gats 50p for 200 A4 size leaflets and 2 for 200 small booklets ( I normally do half my g/f a quarter and her the other quarter )
however i do object at large company,s such as IKEA expecting 200 of their heavy catalogues to be delivered for a meagre 2 when each catalogue weighss about 3 times as much as the newspaper
Our local newsagent pays the girls and boys
15 per week ..the delivery charge to the
customer is 1.50. a week ..they are all in
small area ..the outskirts of the town are
delivered by car ...Joe.. never thought you
would be a Daily Mail reader !!!
