you havent got an old pair of trainers around ,,,,if so , you could wirth a stanley knife modify , these old trainers , by cutting a piece of the toe leather out , that may allow you to feel more comfortable , ....... althoufg looking like you swiped a pair of trainers from a tramp , wont make you feel to good either ,...

I had to wear flip-flops for weeks when I injured my toe at karate, didnt care a jot what I had on my feet lol
