June 08 - never to be repeated I hope
3 Answers
What a hideous month I have had so far. On 1 June I went on holiday to a truly awful place. Two days in I get a phone call to say that my best friend had been rushed to hospital. She had nearly died having haemorraghed after a caesarian before I went away and 9 days after this had haemorrghed again. She ended up having an emergengy hysterectomy and spent 2 days in intensive care in a critical condition. I wasa thousand miles away and beside myself with worry.
I then come home and my dad comes round and tells me that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 05 but my mum has persuaded him not to tell myself and my sister as they "didn't want to worry us". I hit the roof (at my mum not my dad). Thankfully it seems the treatment worked and he's ok now.
My nan's on her last legs as well.
I just want this month over. And we're only half way through.
Am I right to still be peed off with my mum?

Easier said than done, but try and forgive her, and let her know you have (even if you haven't stted how upset you are, your mum will know!).
I hope things get better for you and yours soon. Is your friend recovered? x

Meglet, this may sound harsh but this is simply the stuff that happens. Life is like this. The older you get, the older your family and friends get, the iller they can get......and as the other posters have said, let it go with your mum. She was faced with dealing with the possible painful decline of her lover and has had to endure agony and helplessness. With the best will in the world, your feelings whilst important were second to the mechanisms she chose for surviving emotionally. Concentrate on the now and the future - the treatment worked and your mum and dad have come through.
And we all choose a bad holiday at some time.
