lucky,

When you join the police ( I assume its police custody officer ) an enhanced CRB check is done. If the applicant is totally honest when applying the employer judges the application as a whole. However if they try to hide anything a very dim view is taken. The best thing to do is get her to contact the employer and admit her earlier mistake. it maybe deemed as a postive move to admit her mistake now than hoping for the best. Convictions for driving offences are no usually a reason for refusing employment where assaults, theft, dis honestly would be.

I would agree with Law Man, tell the company as soon as you can. I worked in a similar job some years ago, and they take this issue very seriously. In itself, the driving offence isn't much, but the fact that it seems you are trying to hide it will count against you.
Honesty is the best policy.
She needs to take steps to correct herself and promptly. She has committed a fraud by failing to disclose.
There is sometimes a thing on the form that says that you don't need to record driving convictions unless they are particularly relevant to the job.

I agree however, that it would be best to go to them and explain what happened.
