Which county produces the salt for our roads from its saltmines?

Cheshire, from around the Northwich, Middlewich and Winsford areas.

When i was at school (i accept it was 5 years ago (ish!)) we did a project on this!  Apparently a lot of salt is imported as it is so much cheaper then uk manufacture. Now i can't remember where from.....
