22 down Field offering for ladies (5) A-E-D

I am thinking it refers to Michael Field (the poet) but can't find the reference. Any offers?

Are you certain these letters are correct? There are very few words that would fit and none seem to have anything to do with the clue. See www.onelook.com using search pattern A?E?D

The A comes from "Monsarrat" (Belgian town and Turkish mountain excluding a war novelist); the E from "Tolled" (Said to have narrated what the bells did); and the D from "Neruda" (South American poet, sadly unread).

I don't think any of these are wrong...
Nathan Field..wrote Amends for Ladies in 1610
it's plural though..
