Its the majority from countries outside the EU who sponge on our benefits system and free health care that needs to be urgently tackled. Every one of these that take advantage are depriving your grandparents of decent treatment for which they have paid into for all their lives.
Actually the Polish Government is actively offering incentives to get people to return home. There's quite an incentive program.
And I'm amazed to hear Booldawg call the UK a Ferrari Dino - it's usually "Hell in a handbasket"
I guess we have over a decade of Labour to thank for the high performance economy!

personally i absolutely hate it!!!! they walk round the town i live in and look at you like they have every right to be here and we shouldnt, absolutely sickening and every time you open the local papaer now its not the locals that are in there for court hearings etc due to drink driving no insurance assault etc it is the foreigners. very annoying as we live in northern ireland and it wast long ago that if you were a prod living in estate and you were even remotely having any kind of relationship with a catholic you were screwed but in come the foreigners take over every house going parade their entire families including aunts of cousins grandads and they dont bat an eye!!! what is the point, we should all move to portugal etc and give them a taste of their own medicine.
sorry for that little rant but its the only thing that really gets my back up...

In my opinion, this is what the E.U is all about & its great!
People from all European countries are free to go and live/work where ever they please, and usually this is because their own country are not offering good job prospects and good pay! If this happend to you I'm sure the majority of you would do the same!
It also makes me laugh when people are complaining about other Europeans coming to to live here & yet there are so many Brits emigrating to places like Spain, France etc!
Also if some Europeans are claiming benefits here, why is it thier at fault?! You should be targeting the British government which allows any E.U individual to claim benefits if they are in need. If anything that is a great thing that we are helping others as well ourselves.
Its quite sad that the majority of you are too judgmental and sound xenophobic!

ELVIS68 - How do you know they have 100 in their pockets and expect handouts?! Where's your proof?!
Is that a good enough reason to judge the Eastern Europeans?! At the end of the day these people have it much harder in their own countries & want to make a better living for themselves, and if they need to do go elsewhere to do that, whats the harm?!

I know a few Eastern Europeans. Two are sisters from Slovakia who work 16, yes, 16 hours a day, 6 days a week as cleaners, sending money home after paying UK tax on it, so their parents can buy a home. I know a Hungarian girl who also worked as a cleaner until somebody finally recognised her qualifications and took her on as a Dental Nurse. Even then, she had to fight hard to be paid the same rate as her UK colleagues. I know 3 Polish guys who work as a team of builders. They start at 7.30 am and don't finish until the day's work is complete. They also have to negotiate hard to get 90% of what locals get and every one I spoke to says they are great at their jobs.
I've also been to some Eastern EU countries - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland and seen how they work on their own ground. In my little town we have a horrible group of yobs who congregate in the centre and cause litter, graffiti and damage, drinking and swearing. Not one of tese is other than English. Yes, Europeans also have their rotten apples, but I have yet to see evidence that the proportion or rot exceeds our own. Only once in all these countrie -, in Poland - did I witness any yobbishness and they were football fans and neo-Nazis. Sure, the Lithuanians have their organised criminal gangs. Don't we? Our Northern Irish contributor should know that.
