things i must see....

we are staying at Bretignolles sur mer soon, as i know nothing about the area i just wondered what places of interest for me to see and do - and particularly nice places to eat - are in the area nearby?

This links gives a bit of info. I know this area well and love to visit Noirmoutier and for a quiet day take the boat from Fromentine over to L'Ile d'Yeu and bike round the island. This area is so flat biking is a great way to visit, and going around the marshlands is a way to get away from the crowds. I must add, do take plenty of mosquito repellent!!!

This is a very nice restaurant, quite expensive for France but ideal for a special meal with sea view. There are lots of places that sell sea food and often mussels and chips are on the lunchtime menus. There are of course italian restaurants.
The beach is 21/2 km from campsite which involves a 30 minute stroll or you can cycle down (bikes 10� a day)
If you need more info. just shout!
Another thing in the area is the causeway which links Beauvoir-sur-Mer with Noirmoutier, at low tide all the locals are scratting in the sand looking for shellfish or sole. The sunset is a real joy here (Beauvoir side). There's a restaurant too overlooking the causeway/sea but I find too expensive for what it is, though they do the mussel/chip lunch for 11�. One piece of advice, steer away from the Vend�e raw ham, especially at night as it's SO salty!
