defrag

I cannot run defrag any more. It says 'restarting defrag as another program is writing to defrag' even though I have no other programs running.

try starting in safe mode and then defrag

Try going to download.com and download auslogics disk defrag it's freeware and much faster than the windows version and it does not do that annoying restarting stuff not to mention it's faster. hope this helps
