Take me for instance. Im a hard working man with a daughter on my own. I have a nice house and I keep my head down and I dont bother anyone. I am facing prosection for dangerous driving because i had an accident. An accident where a vehicle problem or a drivers mistake can land me in prison. This will in turn land my 10 month old in care.
Im obviously scared sh!tless of this. Im not looking for approval or a hug, Im looking for advice. I went to work one day innocently, Im now looking at spending the rest of my life on a criminal database. I havent slept properly for over 9 months because of this. Im suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome because of this. I cannot walk properly because my back is in pieces because of this.
Please people, dont tarnish us all with the same brush. If I go to prison for what happened just know one thing; I had an accident which i tried desperately to avoid. Some little sh!t can walk into a bar, glass someone and never be sent to prison. Wheres the justice????

lonedad - I'm genuinely sorry to hear of your situation and I sincerely hope that someone in the law section has been of help to you. But I think you'll agree that your situation is very different to someone saying 'This guy knocked into me in a nightclub which was disrespecting me in front of my crew so I had to knock him out and now I'm facing an abh charge (or gbh or whatever it is). Will I go to prison'? Where, quite rightly, the answers tend to be along the lines of, 'Hopefully, for quite a long time'
My feelings are as they always have been. And also my sentiments.Nuff said on the matter .Was just catching up with my aryan brother.Ill go now to spare the blood letting.Catchya later gonzo and if youre around let me know mate you always been sound with me.And anyone that dont suck up to the cancer wisher gets my vote.
Nite.

Sasha I do understand mate. I just see that sometimes sh!t happens in life. Situations can get out of hand. Some people take the law into their hands because they see no other option.
The thing is, these people who commit abh, gbh or assault usually get a suspended sentance or community service. I can go to prison for months for this. I will be hit so many times as punishment. I will be fined, i will lose my licence which in turn would be my livlihood, i can go to prison, i will lose my home as it is rented, i will lose my daughter. Since the accident I have lost my business, I have gone bankrupt, I am being treated for PTSS and I can barely walk. What does a theif or a thug get? Nothing. Yet I have read on several questions regarding driving law that people actually want them to be strung up!!!!!
I read one about a lad who drove his car while over the limit 200 yards to a safe place because thugs were smashing it up. People wanted him dead for that!!! Dont get me wrong, I dont condone drink driving at all. The lad was justly punished and is very very sorry for what he did yet he will always be labelled for what he did.
I just have lost alot of faith in people to be honest. I can say from my own experience that you never know what is around the corner. One minute everything is smelling of roses, the next your whole life has come crumbling down because of what COULD be a genuine mistake.

lonedad, I take your point on board and I have also seen sasha's post, with which I agree. Your situation is markedly different, and from what I saw you received some sensible advice (for what it's worth, a momentary lack of concentration - as long as there were no aggravating factors - drink, drugs, mobile phone, larking about, high speed, racing) is unlikely to result in a prison sentence - and if it is just that, it is unlikely to proceed on the dd - CPS may well accept a due care and attention. However, you make an important point in your post - yes there are shysters out there who will glass someone in a pub and then post on here "I glassed someone and then kicked them 3 times in the head when they were on the floor before half strangling them, but it was self defence cos he called me a ****, although it wasn't my fault I was drunk" - that is the type of post that Sasha was talking about. I think you will find that generally posters in the law section receive good advice.
Whilst I am truly sorry for your situation, I do not think Sasha's very tongue in cheek post was aimed at the likes of you.
