i am doing the slimming world diet and am ok on red days but really struggle on green days as i don't like pasta or quorn, i love rice but what do you have with it. has anyone any good green day recipes. thanks.
I`m having a Somerfields vegetable pancake rolls with rice & their sweet & sour sauce binge. They do 2 sweet & sour sauces in jars, one allegedly "healthier" than t`other. Cheap meal!
not been a while since i did it, but spag bol with quorn mince and lasagne made with quorn ince and instead of cheese sauce mix quark (like curd cheese normally with cream etc in shops) and a tin of macaroni cheese grounded up in one of those hand heled whizzer things add a bitof dry parmesan too. chick pea dahl from sundar (sold in morrisons) is really nice sound horrible but nice instead of a curry!
Have a look on slimming world website
www.slimming-world.co.uk
there are lots of hints and tips on what to eat.
You will have to be a paying member of a slimming world class though to access this site as you have to enter a password which changes weekly, and you can get this at the weekly class
Rice: use as a basis for stirfrys, rissotos.pilau rice, paella, stuffed peppers or aubergines, or stuffed butternut squash, rice salads, rice pudding(of course!),rice balls-left-over rissoto shaped into ballls with a bit of mozzarella inside, then shallow fried in frylite.....I hope that has given you some ideas.
Stir-fried vegetables go well with rice and you can do all sorts of different combinations. Use Fry-Light instead of oil.
As someone has already mentioned, if you are a member there are lots of recipes on the website. But if not, you can buy SW recipe books from eBay or Amazon.
And if you Google
"slimming world" squash risotto
you will find an excellent recipe for a butternut squash risotto that I can highly recommend
Also, on the bodyoptimise.com website there is a 7-day green eating plan and also some recipes, including a vegetarian jambalaya. It has Quorn in it, but you could leave it out if you prefer.
