Will an aquarium fish survive in a pond?
Back to the canibalistic blue fantail again! 3 months down the line and the same fish is now a GOOD 2.5" long and today looks like it has swallowed a football. It is suspected of eating 7 beatiful Golden / White; Cloud Minnows in just 5 days! Would it survive in my Dads pond? I don't want to euthanize it but by the same token I want the next fish I buy to have a chance at staying alive!
So could I; in good conscience, transfer it to the pond ?
TIA

Half fill it with the water from the tank and put the fish in. Then float the bucket in the pond and add one cup of pond water to the bucket, repeat adding a cup of pond water every haft hour until the bucket sinks under water and the fish can swim out. This will prevent any water/temp shock.
Make sure the bucket/container is not in direct sun or you'll fry the fish.
