Just checked my Scots Dialect Dictionary. Tink is short for Tinker ( A traveller). Tink that is correct. Never used to be any Scots words in this crossword.
They have a new crossword setter.
I bought a Scots Dialect dictionary years ago
in Scotland to be able to do Daily Record and
Sunday Mail crossword. but someone borrowerd
it and never returned it.
like you I was stuck on that one and 27d is
baffleing Foolish behaviour, ?a?f?n. this
was asked yesterday but the answer could
not be agreed on.
Not sure about tink as in tinker - political correctness for a crossword? Maybe the clue is traveller as in a rep, travelling salesman. I'm stuck with 20A, 53A and 27D.
