Ford Escort Clutch

I have a 1994 M Reg Escort that had a new clutch fitted last year (June) and in recent weeks, it has begun to slip again.
Its hard to gain momentum when accelerating from a standing point and also revs to much when changing gears.
I've been told by the garage that replaced it last year, that it is still covered by warranty BUT only if there is no oil on the clutch part.
Is this correct ?

Yes, it is correct.

The warranty will cover you if the clutch parts fitted by the garage have worn out or mechanicaly failed but if the crankshaft oil seals have failed allowing oil onto the clutch plate ( allowing the clutch to slip) then you will not be covered by the warranty as that is not the garages fault.

Hang on it's June the 21st today ?...What about the exact date it was fitted ?...It could be over 12 months.

Anyway, if the clutch is slipping, it could be a leaking core plug dumping water into the gearbox and getting on the plate.

Or Oil from a seal at the back of the Gearbox leaking in.

If it is another problem other than a faulty or worn clutch then I think your outta luck buddy.

QUINTON HAZELL offer "sort of lifetime warranties " on there CLUTCH components.... most clutches are fguarenteed for 24 months or 24,000 miles which ever comes sooner (and some clutches are !2mth/12,000 ) ..... -if there is iol , on the clutch ,it may be thru a faulty , Oil seal , in and arounfd the gearbox ..... the Garage , say this "clause 2 about , oil on the CLUTCH , so to make you aware ....... about what the manufacturers may contest , in any claim , i had an ~ORIGINAL , fiited on my mothers car , parts alone was �115 plus labour .... but i will get more than 40,000 ,miles out of it ,,,,comsudering she does only 3,500 miles a year ,,, you pay for what ypu get ...
