Im working right up til my due date (not out of choice as my maternity isnt that great and i want to spend as much time with my baby after) Im really starting to struggle now, its more tiredness and thinking i should be relaxing with my feet up. Is it a good idea to work right up til 40 weeks? Anyone else done it and wished they hadnt?

What sort of work do you do? - believe me, you will be more tired after bubs arrives so if you can manage, it will be worth it...
I'm doing the same thing. I need the money and would like more time off at the other side. But like you i'm starting to struggle with the tiredness. You are entitled to rest periods if and when you need them. When are you due?
I had planned to work upto my due date as I was only entitled to SMP, unfortunatley I was in a car accident, not injured but the GP signed me off sick, they took this to be pregnancy related and so
i ended up at home.
I must admit I wasn't particularly tired before but was afterwards, I went back to work at 2 months. It can be done but you do need to rest when you can.
Good luck
depends on the sort of work you are doing, the hours you work and youre travelling times etc.

I worked up to 42 weeks with my first but i sat at a desk all day and was healthy and my pregnancy was going fine.

Again with my second i worked up until 40+4 and then gave birth.

There is no point in continuing if you cant cope as it wont do you any good, have you any holiday due that you can take before your maternity leave?
hi. my wife worked right up to the last min. yes she did get tired & after the twins was born, we seemed to have one each, but trust me its well worth it, also she did,nt go back to work until they went to school. Now 22yrs on we still are trired & both still at home,,,WE LOVE THEM....

Great to hear your responses guys. Its nice to know theres lots of people in the same boat.

Im 36 weeks pregnant at the mo, i work at stansted airport as an engineering co-ordinator, i do work at a desk but i do alot of rushing around the airport. Im doing the same as most really, im working til the last minute for financial reasons so i use my maternity after the baby is born rather than start it before.

I guess i just need to take every day as it comes, i sware im only gonna last another 2 weeks

Wish me luck :)

Forgot to say they have reduced my hoyrs for 8-5 to 9-4 which has helped a tad but ive been advised my an occupational health assesment doc to cut my day in half completely. If they did this, silly question but do you think they will cut my pay too?
