Hi misundrstood, really sorry to hear about your dad. However like ray has said it is not the death sentence most people think. Radiotherapy is a one of the options available to treat people with cancer and I wish your dad all the best. Can you speak with the specialist nurse who will be involved in your dad's care? He/she would be able to give you far more info and offer support too. Take carexxx
Very very sorry to hear that...
My mother had lung cancer as the primary source the secondary was sadly in her brain.
From experience if he doe's have Chemotherapy try and ensure that he has this at home...this is possible.
Hospitals by there nature are dirty and dangerous places.
Avoid un-necessary contact with anyone other than family, and don't allow any children with colds to go near him.
If he has a stay in hospital, remember these chemo drugs strip the body of good and bad cells, he will be suspectable to infection..
Don't be afraid to ask the doctors any questions.
Be there for him, and reassure him, call McMillian nurse advice line for help and guidence.
Most of all be brave - I know thats sometimes hard, but crying and being upset in from of your Dad won't help..
Remember - The soul of a person lives on forever, we only rent these things called bodies.
All the very best to you and your Dad, and god bless xx

I'm sorry to hear your bad news. Earlier in the year my boyfriends dad had a tumour on the spine. It was from one ear to the other and there was a fairly large possibility he might have died or been paralysed from an operation to remove it. If it had been left he would have died as it was getting so big. He was so positive and went ahead with the op despite the surgeon telling him he may kill him doing it. He came through the other side and is fine despite everyone thinking he was going to die. He is now at home recovering, he's not even paralysed! I think his positivity helped him through it and by some miracle he's still here and in fine working order. His tumour only happens to 1 in 10,000 people and it was only the 2nd the surgeon had seen. I'm telling you this to show you that if you keep your chin up it can really help and miracles really do happen! x
