I split with my partner 16 months ago and we have a joint mortgage, since leaving i have continued to pay the full monthly mortgage whilst we have been trying to sell the house. I find myself in the position that i can no longer financially support this and don't know what to do. Can anyone advise me on what i should do first?

Speak to your mortgage lender and see if they can work out a better solution for you, maybe lower repayments or a payment break while you get it sold then the mortgage is redeemed .

Just make sure that there is enough equity in the property that the bank can be fully repaid when you sell.
