Thanks. I'm still really mad bucause it is more 'stolen' than 'lost'
Contact the operator. They can stop the sim, and reissue one to you.

That way, if it is pay as you go you can get the outstanding credit back, and keep the same number.
you need to check whether you've paid insurance. household insurance may cover it, or the phone companies sometimes add it in to an initial payment.
a market... but check if you can claim it on your house insurance first.
Oh gawd, I'd be quite upset if I lost my phone :(

Do any of your friends have a spare mobile you can borrow until you can find out if your provider can send out a new sim with the same number / insurance will cover the cost of a replacement?
I found this advice the other day on the internet:
You are able to stop thieves from using your mobile phone. Your phone has a unique identification number, called IMEI. You can find your phones IMEI by pressing *#06# on your mobile phone. Write down the number you see on your phones screen, and keep it in a safe place. If your phone is stolen, report your SIM number (i.e. your phone number) together with the IMEI to your mobile phone company. The company will immediately cancel the SIM card, and the thieves will not be able to call from your mobile phone and increase your bill.

^ Ooooh I just did that!

Doesn't the account freeze as soon as you tell yiour provider anyway though?
I always have a cheap phone on PAYG with not much credit on it. That way if I lose it I am not too upset.

When I dropped one down a portaloo I was able to laugh.

Tescos just asked a few questions to confirm ownership.(when / where did you last top up, how and how much)
They very quickly sent a replacement SIM.
I read a little while ago, one of the big shops, like Asda, was gonna being selling mobiles for a fiver.

I've never checked this out, so I don't know it is true or still ongoing.
I alweays use other peoples cast off phones. Pop to local market or garage , buy a vodaphone PAYG sim for a fiver, off you go.
Get a good contract free phone for a year, then cancel and convert to PAYG.

I cannot understand why anyone would pay more than 20 for a phone.
we have about 10 old phones in my house .
Tesco are very cheap and alsoo do tesco sim cards .cheapest payg for crosss contract and text messages .
