the royal pavilion is a quite good place to visit if your interested in that sort of thing, it's quite an extensive tourt.
Unless it's changed since I lived there then you can't park really close but the are plenty of car parks just a bit down the seafront, and if you going to Brighton then there is a lot more than the pavilion to see and a lot of the town is worth a walk round.
I would suggest a walk round the lanes as well for some of the best obscure shops in the country.
