how can i get to be an extra on tv soaps such as eastenders etc

Join a extras agency like the ones below. I think Eastenders mainly deal with these two.

my mother was an extra on 'give my head peace' (northern irish show). she got the work from my friends auntie who works in the bbc, so u cud get a bbc helpline no. from the bbc website or go to a tv recording studio or sumthin... i duno...

you will have to join a few agencies, get some head-shots done, fill in forms etc. they treat it as a proper job and you have to be professional, such as learning how to behave on set etc. it is very boring as there is a lot of sitting around and you cant chat. there are loads of sites on the net
