multi photos

In the past when I've had many pics of the same topic ie a birthday party,I've been able to click on the first one and title it then click onto the last one and they would all come up with the same title but numbered consecutively.For some reason this isn't happening now,it might be me I don't know,any ideas please.

Highlight all the photo's either by:

1. Click and drag a selection box around all of them
2. Click the first photo, hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard and click the last one. Release the SHIFT key.

Now press F2 on your keyboard, this will allow you to rename the first one, when you press ENTER, it will number the remaining photos consecutively.
