I am crazily frugal i am the woman that opens the fridge and sees a couple of eggs a spring onion and nothing much else, and make a meal out of it,cannot abide waste,at my work they shop every week for the service users buying all different types of food, sandwich fillers and other useless stuff and the nightstaff have to throw half of it out cos it has gone out of date,me personally i would have used it but we are dealing with other peoples money so there it goes into the bin cos some staff dont look to see what the sell by date is,are they like this at home if so how much money is thrown away every week!!!
My veg plot is only 8 ft by 12; By trial and error over the past 6 years, We now grow potatoes ( the best) broad beans, rhubarb, garlic and raspberries. Runner beans are easy but we don't like them, tomatoes in grow bags and peppers. I would love an allotment , but they are hard to come by
This is for frankofile, sorry to but in puddicat. Have you thought of asking a little old lady who can't keep up with her garden to let you use it in exchange for a few veggies? My mother did this which sorted her back garden out, she had company around the house and got fresh vegetables on top. You could advertise.
