The Tube was broadcast live, as were those trailers ('plugs') shown on the day an hour or two before the show started.
In one paticular trailer, shown about 4.30 in the afternoon, Jools blurted out �If you�re a groovy f*****, you�ll watch The Tube.�
Channel 4 bosses were less than impressed (or, more likely, they had to bow to pressure from shocked and irate Countdown viewers) and Jools received a six week ban for his actions.
