Well, this could spiral. I object to carcinogenic substances being belched up into the air from unleaded petrol; I object to having to breathe in the poisonous residue that spills from aircraft; I also object to drink drivers and those that take drugs, that team onto our roads every day, and object to huge mobile phone masts - but it's something that we seem unable to do anything about. Smoking's a mug's game, but an addiction. Even so, I think it has vetry little impact on other folk, compared to the above things.

Tastymorsel- I was on holiday and my husband who was smoking at the time lit up a cigarette and the smell made me want one. During the 16 years every now and again the same thing would happen I would smell a cigarette but just a sniff was OK but on holiday whether it was because I was on holidayor not, I dont know but iI just felt I want one. I said when I go back I will give it up again, how wrong was I. I dont know if you have given up before but the first puff is terrible it is very harsh on your throat but you persevere for some reason until it does not happen. My adivce to you would be if you ever get that feeling just sniff and certainly dont have one because once you have given it up it is far easier to not have one than it is to give it up.
I think even though smoking does shorten your life, the plus side is that you do spend your life looking considerably cooler than non-smokers.
Have you ever seen 'Apocolypse Now' ? The opening scene where Martin Sheen is lying on his bed with a cigarette perched out of his mouth is the epitome of cinematic coolness.
