I heard a song the other day which was sung by a man,i think the song was quite old and i would say it was a mixture of (motown/soul).

 the words that I remember from it went

"ooh. ooh child, things are gonna get easier" or something similar!

does anyone know what the song is called and who it is by its been in my head for ages now, any help would be appreciated many thanks x

The song was 'Ooh Child,' by The Five Stairsteps. It is whats known in the trade as a belter!

Yep gerryo,  great song. Did nowt in the Uk but a fairly big hit in the US in 1969 or 70. The Stairsteps were a a family group , the Burkes, one of whose memebers Keni had some solo success in the 80s.
