my renult magan wont start and when it does the revs sits about 10 k if i try to go above that by reving the engine it cuts out

I doubt very much that your Renault Megane engine will ever get to 10k rpm without exploding first.  I think you mean 1k rpm.  It sounds like you may have a blockage in the fuel line.

Same thing happened to my 1.4 authentique. Try replacing the coils, one on each cylinder. If they are black they are the originals, if grey they are replacements, usually under warranty.

is it an auto or manual if its an auto i had trouble with my megan and i can only say get shot of it quick .
