Vodafone Contract. Was i mis-sold my renewal?
2 Answers
Bit of a specific issue with my Vodafone contract:-
I have been trying to get out of it for a while due the pathetic and frustrating signal in my area. I emailed Vodafone in Dec 07, complaining and saying i'd need to change to another service provider if they couldnt improve things.. They said
A/ The singnal in my area is "good" and B/ Things will shortly improve anyway as a new cell is being installed. They then offered me 25% off my contract for 6 months. I didnt take them up on this, but my contract was up for renewal a 3 months later anyway. I renewed on the (stupid) belief that things may impove, plus i got a cheap deal as usual.
NOW - Here it gets interesting. Signal is still rubbish, seemingly worse, so i email Vodafone again this week with a follow up email, similar content. They said this time that signal in my area is "variable" but are basically saying no way can i cancel early without penalty (term is til June 2009) BASED ON THE FACT THAT I KNEW THE SIGNAL WAS POOR BEFORE I RENEWED, basically holding me to ransom on the previous enquiry i made in december. However, i based my renewal on the emailed promise of a forthcoming improved service ( i still have this email)
Do you think this detail will enable me to successfully argue the toss and cancel early?
If not i guess this will teach me a lesson. Orange here i come, either way.
Many thanks in anticipation!
