sold a shirt on ebay that is large, buyer says large is 48 ins when compared to a gant shirt and it does not fit
is gant short for giant? because they must be big people, M&S says large is 42 Ins which sounds more like it ,
any thoughts?

Hmmm, i buy a lot of clothes and it does vary from the make of clothing, but as far as i am aware a large is 42-44 inches...

I bought a VS size T-shirt from the USA recently. It turned out to be a size 12. Maybe the buyer was American! I would say 48 was XL or even XXL.

GANT is a designer brand and a standard large is between 41 -45 inches so tell your buyer that if they want to compare to a gant shirt they should fork out and buy a gant shirt otherwise they should take on board that all shirt sizes vary by brand and they should ask the question of measurements before they buy it!!!!
