Is there a way of deleting multiple photos/files?
Hey, I'm pulling my hair out deleting a load of old photos in 'my photos' on Windows XP {or music files, same difference}. Is there a way I can highlight a lot of files at once and delete them together rather than having to click delete, then yes each time as it takes ages?
Thank-you

if you have a list of things you want to delete click the first one in the list then hold down the shift key and click the last one and you will select the two you clicked and everything inbetween, then just press the delete key to delete them
if the files are scattered about and not in a list hold down the ctrl key and you can click ONCE on each file you want to delete and it will select each file you click, once you have selected all the ones you want press delete again and away they go

oh and you can also draw a loop around a selection of files using the mouse, you can practice this on your desktop.
Just click and hold down the left mouse button and keeping the button held down move the mouse in any direction, you will see this starts to draw a square, when you release the mouse button any files that are inside that square are selected, and again press the delete key to delete them
Also remember that when you delete anything it is just moved to the recycle bin, to then permanently delete it, therefore freeing the space on your hard drive, you then have to empty the recycle bin by right clickinig on it and selecting "empty recycle bin" from the menu that pops up
