Download mid from address field

I used to be able to view the source of a page to locate an embedded mid file, type it in the address field, and download it. But now I get 'The page cannot be found'. Is it something in the Advanced settings or what? Thanks in advance.

There's not an option to stop anything like that, maybe you're typing it in wrong. Try opening windows media player and trying File > Open URL to play it.

yeah, it plays. I just want to save it to my computer. It used to work, until someone installed Quicktime and wav files got associated with that. I have unassociated them now, but I can't download them like I used to. I've resorted to writing a temp.htm on my desktop, with a link to the embedded mid I want, so I can right-click and save target as..
