printing photos
3 Answers
A previous reply informed me that a jpg file size 228x165 pixels makes photos about 2.5 by 2 inches (too small for me). Can someone please tell me what size (in pixels) should the file be to print a photo to fit nicely across A4 paper (say half A4)? I found the file in size 713x515 but now the photo is far too big. Does anyone know please?

If your image size is 300x300 pixels to get a good quality printed image you could only print it at 1" square. Home printing is probably acceptable at 200dpi. A sheet of a4 is 210x297mm (approx. 8.5x12") to print a decent quality image to fill an A4 sheet (at 200dpi) the image would have to be 1700x2400. Some software (i.e Photoshop) allows you to set the required print size for the image, which makes it all very easy.
