iv got a canon eos 400d and want a zoom lense for it... what do people suggest is the best??

it depends how much zoom you want; longer zooms tend to mean a slight falling-off in quality. But really, the first thing you need to decide is how close up you want to zoom (or how wide an angle you want).

not anythin too fancy just basic zoom..
ill give an example.. say if im on the beach an see an see a boat i wanna be able to zoom in on it for a good photo..
