peculiar error message

i have been sent a direct link to download a trial programme, but whenever i clich the link, it asks me if i want it to run i click 'run' but then i get a message saying:
' C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\PZDHEPPD\VectorWorks2008[1].exe is not a valid Win32 application'
what does it mean and how can i get around it?
any help will be apprecieted

if your lucky it's a genuine file that got corrupted while downloading and just download again and all will be fine. if they offer a choice of mirror sites to download it from select a different site.

errrr... in reality, are you 125% sure you trust where this link came from... think it is a good time to ensure your anti virus and malware software is up to date and to run a full scan

Sorry you are still not convincing me you haven't just downloaded a virus, sorry to be harsh, do you know the person that sent you the link personally?

Is your user name on your PC, HP_Administrator?

If not, then I suspect that the sender intended to attach an executable, but sent you a link to the file on his/her machine by mistake.

Incidentally, checking out the VectorWorks site, they don't seem to offer a trial version...
