The pill & spots
10 Answers
Can the pill make you spottier? I know it's meant to make you less spotty and some people take it for acne, but since I've started taking it (for contraception, not for spots) I seem to have gotten spottier. I have a good complexion and hardly get any spots at all, but recently I've broken out on a wave of them. I've only been taking it for about a week. Could the change to my body be causing the spots, or is it more likely that I'm just extraordinarily spotty lately?

See how it goes but if you think it's not working for you go back to the doctors and see if there's any you could have dianette. I took that when I was younger as I had spots and so did my sister an it worked for me and obviously it's also a contraceptive pill. I still take it now because it's a treatment for PCOS. However your doctor/nurse will be able to advise you and give you all the options if you feel the need to go back.

They work differently for everyone, pinksmartie. I had a very clear complexion until I went on the pill, then I was covered in acne within a fortnight. If it continues, go back to your GP and ask for Dianette, which they prescribe for acne as well as a contraceptive, anyway. It's just a case of finding a pill that agrees with you. After Dianette I used Cilest, which was very good. Hope you get it sorted. :)
