Nero vision video editor problem

I have just edited my first video using Nero, but once complete sent it to my documents, but it only saved the video and not the sound in the Nero file. There is a separate file for exported audio but it's empty, and I can see no button in Nero to export sound and vision although it is essential. Any Nero users out there spot what's gone wrong?

Hi,

Sounds like a codec issue.

In your case , you'll need a tool like afreeCodecVT to determine which codec is required for your video.
afreeCodecVT v2.0 downloadable here: http://www.afreecodecvt.com/

Once you have worked out the codec, you can search for it here: http://www.afreecodec.com/avi/

Cheers.

Thanks lyj-e1, the funny thing is I've done one edit of a DVD with Windows but needed to change the file extension, and when I found Nero did it directly forgot what I did for Windows. I don't know what a codec is but will follow the links. Do you need a degree in this now to use their programs...?

Good idea but the vt version I got only loads .avi files, mine are .vro or.vob from memory and suspect if they were .avi would probably work with most editors unlike the clunkers I've been landed with.
