I'd never heard of this fish before let alone eaten it. Has anybody heard of or eaten it before? They serve it up in batter on Fridays in the staff restaurant where I work instead of cod.

You can buy them in most tropical fish shops in the UK as small, fast swimming catfish.
They are fairly easy to keep but will grow quickly and are fairly nervous fish so require a large tank. I've seen them in the tropical lake in Kew gardens at about 3 feet long.
First time i've ever seen them as food though but there are a lot of tropical fish eaten in South East Asia and Africa
