The mystery of diaphragm
3 Answers
I think diaphragm is there to help us breathe. It is a lot related to the functions of the lungs. Why then the heart is in the chest? So I guessed that diaphragm aosl divides clean organs (the lungs and the heart) from the other dirty organs. What do you think? Am I imagining too much? I think there might be some scientific reasons. Thanks.

Some elements of its current formation make more sense to us than others. As you point out, the heart and the lungs being close to each other seems a very practical arrangement. On the other hand, some people would prefer the sexual organs and the organs of excretion to be further away from each other. But all that matters to "nature" is that the human body is able to function, reproduce and adapt to changing circumstances; and this it has shown itself capable of doing over a long period of time.
