it seems now that i am member on this site that all my friends want advice ..anyway can i ask ,my mate packed her job in last month and is now pregnant so wont be looking for a new job sometime soon .between april and end of june she paid �1830 in income tax .can she claim this back ?and if so when can she do it ? thanks again

Yes, but not until after the end of the tax year - April 2009. She uses her P45 from the last job and contacts her tax office.

Buildersmate is right, they will be long winded about it as well, I have been waiting two months for a tax rebate for the 2007/8 tax year.
