I think some people are.
I wonder if it can be affected by genes and such as my mum has meniere's disease which I inherited from her, early onset arthritis (ditto) and looks like I may have inflammatory bowel disease which I think my nan had.
It can also be environmental, I suffered badly from an eating disorder which royally screwed up a lot of my digestive system and weakened my kidneys.
It's strange as my brother is never ill (doesn't even need glasses like the rest of the family) , think he got all the good genes haha :)
It frustrates me I can't do a lot of the things I used to (used to be soo active, RAF cadets, riding, climbing, canoeing, dancing, always out and about) but there are ways of adapting.
Ok so I now struggle with rock climbing and riding and may not be doing another 36 mile canoe rally etc... but I've found other things I really enjoy like photography, visiting zoos etc...
I have a partner and it is hard though he's very good and his former partner had lupus which is far more serious than anything I have and they were together a long time.

I agree with Jenna. My sisters are really well and cope with illness with ease. I am the one who has always had things wrong- asthma, eczema, rubbish knees and glasses! Now years on, I have slippede discs, ulcerative colitis and voice problems. My Dad also has a list of health problems but my Mum is far healthier than I am. I do think that some people are more prone to illness than others, however I do think that a lot can be cured by eating. What you put into your body to build it. Echinacea can help a weak immune system. Character can also play a part- being single and having no kids doubtless is more depressing and causes you to ruminate on your health far more than if you had a lovely partner and kids to take care of. It could be that you maybe do not deal well with anger (hold it in) which causes illness and imbalance in the body. A lot of people swear by mediation etc. Maybe a change of lifestyle would help you?
Jno, my condition could b part of my weak immune system. was born with a genetic disorder effecting the nervous system.
but then again what jenna said it can be all sorts of reasons. like my mum havent really been ill only the occaional hayfever, thats all i can remmeber. but my dad have a heart condition (had two attacks) and my brother has high blood pressure.
it really frasustrate me too, i wish i could be just healthy so i can do normal things . sometimes u see healthy ppl dont shift their @rses.. such a waste.
Like Scarlett says, i am trying to change my lifestyle now, from being depressed and moaning to go out and meet ppl and find a new hobby. i think being happy could prevent at least some of my illness.
i have found a new place to live, so im moving out in two weeks im sooo releif and cant wait to move in, its taking me a long time to find somewhere i like. from then on.. i feel free. :) xx
