In a short space of time he could do untold damage. These days I would cage him for his own security, but back then I didn't know about cages. One day I came home from a brief shopping trip to find he'd eaten 4 woolly bobble hats (worn in our sports car), and the bottom 4 feet of stair carpet, Others included tea towels, socks, carrier bags etc, Luckily he survived all this and matured into a lovely well behaved dog who rarely put a paw out of line.
I have two rough collies , the bitch didnt really do much damage but the dog.wow!!!!! he used to chew and rip the bed base, completely down one side of it. Eat letters, telephones, Tv controls, pens ,took out a five pound note from an envelope and ate the five pound note, left the envelope alone!!! children toys. Oh and a whole 9 inch rich fruit christmas cake. And I am sure there are more things I have missed out.
Oh the joy of owning a dog ah!!

My gorgeous Tara whom i had from a pup wasnt too bad though the same cannot be said for her pups well the one that i kept, the pup managed to go through 2 internal doors, 2 king size mattresses, countless shoes many of my daughters toys, and a heated front seat of a Range Rover. most of these bouts of distruction were whilst i had mearly left her for under an hour and the Ranger rover seat was done in under 15 mins.
I have newly aquired a dog whom the family could look after due to being out too much and he has been distructive but not to any major effect like the pup was and usually its is my fault in the first place for leaving such tempting things within his reach.

One dog I had, Sam - a labrador - managed to chew the control knob on the washing machine. It shouldn't have happened but somehow the maching started filling with the door open and I came home from shopping to find the kitchen floor under 2 inches of water. It was a hot day and I was 8 months pregnant so I wasn't amused at the time!
He also chewed through the door frames at one point and scratched a hole in the kitchen floor.
