E-commerce Software

Can anyone recommend some free (or cheap) downloadable software which I can load onto my server (Windows or Apache - preferably Windows) to give some of my sites an e-commerce or on-line ordering capability?

Built-in support for credit card payment would be a bonus!

Hi, 

I only have experience of 1 package (well free'ish) it's a PHP package that can be bolted onto Apache via PHP.  The scripts are from osCommerce.com.   I think they're quite good and also very customisable if you familiar with php if you're not there is still quite a bit that is customisable.  You should check out the one i modified for my wife's business www.learningprincipals.com.    Built in credit card support (obviously via a credit card authorising service), plus built in support for online payment methods such as paypal, etc.  This script came bundled with my host providers selection of "scripts".

Free-ish because I pay 100 quid per year for my host provider (www.blackfoot.co.uk) and it comes bundled with that script from oscommerce.    I don't know if it's open source or not.  They do ask that you put their copyright info at the bottom of your site so I'm not sure.

paypal do e-commerce shops that you bolt on, they are pretty reasonable for what they do.

Yeah, OSCommerce is open-source. It's very good - I've used it to great effect in the past.
