Hotels in Majorca is it cheaper to book when there

Ive just found cheap flights out to majorca and am now looking for a cheap hotel to stay in. Im thinking it might be worth trying my luck and booking the hotel when im there by walking into a few hotels and asking if they have accomodation available. Im just not sure if it is cheaper to do it that way anymore

In my experience, arriving at a hotel with no booked room will entitle you to their most expensive room rate. The exception to this (for me) was motels in the USA, where I found coupon books offering discounts of up to $10/night, on already cheap rooms.

During my holidays, I have spoken to guests booking their hotel as they go. This gives them the freedom to linger longer if the place is good, otherwise move on. They have invariably told me that they are paying top dollar for the room, compared to the rate they could have pre-booked, or got through a package.

Plus you don�t want to waste your holiday lugging your stuff around, looking for a room. My advice is to search the web for good deals, at least you won�t have the worry of finding accommodation on arrival.

it is a difficult one to answer because I don't disagree with Hymie but I used to work in a hotel in the UK and we would lower the room to the lowest rate last minute in order to sell the room rather than lie empty. you could arrive at a busy time and there be nothing available. Personally I think you should have a look before you go and I bet you find a good deal. Enjoy.

Check out the deals available on-line for a few hotels close to where you live � call in on the day for which the on-line deal was offered (or phone) and ask for the rate.

Although it will only be a small sample, you will know whether any local hotels offer discounts on the day (verses pre-booked on-line deals), which is likely to be replicated elsewhere (in Majorca).

At this time of year I very much doubt that you'd get a room if you haven't booked, definitely not worth risking and in my experience any rooms that you can get will be very pricey!
