I've provided addresses for sort codes on AB on many occasions but no-one has ever thanked me or given an explanation of how the information was useful. I can't see the point of knowing the location but I'm happy for someone to convince me otherwise. Please can you enlighten me john-hill as to why it might be useful.

The address for ALL Barclays branches is Leicester, LE87 2BB. They don't give out individual branch addresses.

Good point dzug. That's because linking a sort code to a branch address is of no relevance to anyone as far as I can see - and all the processing is done away from the branch and each branch holds the same information about all customers.
I'm puzzled john-hill as to how knowing the address fom a sort code could help anyone, but please prove me wrong.

Because when you fill out a Direct Debit mandate it asks for the banks address including postcode.
