Copying camcorder videos

Just bought a samsung camcorder and downloaded on to pc then copied to dvd. However the dvd will not play on my dvd player. It comes up with dvd not supported on screen. Any ideas as to what to do? PS, dvd player plays downloaded photos ok.

Depending on your player, you will probably need to "create" a DVD (in DVD format) rather than just copy the data on to a DVD disc.

Also, the Samsung camera that they have at one of the schools I support needs a special codec to play the files on a PC (I found it on line, but suspect that it's on the disc Samsung supply). You'll probably need this installed to do any conversions successfully.

Thanks LeMarchand, I have done the codex bit as it came as software with camcorder. Will try creating dvd as you suggested. Cheers!
