If we had a *skillsbank* what skills do you have and what do you need doing ?
For example, I can sew, cook and am getting quite handy at cat sitting but am useless at anything requiring step ladders or singing in tune.... Does anyone fancy sorting out that really annoying crack in my ceiling ? You will be paid in (exceedingly moreish) cheese scones....

fao boogie, unfortunatly the garage i used to use closed down and ended up taking it to 'peoples' think th #e majority of the bill was labour costs. Won't be going there ever again. Found a new garage now on recommendation and they have given it the once over (for free) and told me that all seems ok. They were slightly worried though cause my boot doesnt open and this apparently is one of the key points for my mot. Oh well, it has a pass so i am certaintly not taking it back to peoples. There work may be good but the labour cost is disgusting.

well I can pretty much turn my hand to anything, I've been an IT engineer for several years so can sort out most computer and network issues, I'm quite happy to repair cars and take engines apart, I used to be a domestic appliance engineer, so can fix your washing machine if it breaks, I know haw to use most metal working equipment (lathes etc) so can often make a part to fix something rather than buy it...
but most importantly for this ceiling repair based question...
I'm 6"6' so ladders aren't normally needed!
