How do I get my missus to watch Horror movies?
15 Answers
Out of many genres I enjoy, I think I place horror as my number one choice of movie.
I particularly like the new modern torture-porn style such as the Saw series, Wrong Turn, Hostel etc etc etc, which are not particularly scary unlike the more "supernatural or ghost ones like Exorcist, Poltergeist etc etc etc.
But how on Gods' Earth do I get my wife to be interested in such movies?
Can people change?
Or am I on a hiding to nothing?

You could try making it a special night by buying some nibbles and having a couple of bottles of wine/beer whilst you watch the film. Other alternative is to agree that you watch a film she wants to watch but in turn she has to watch one of your films and carry it on like that.
I tend to come online when hubby is watching a film I'm not interested in but the computer's right next to the telly so more or less end up watching it anyway lol

i always agree to watch similar films with my hubby when i am tired. that way i can fall asleep before the really gory stuff starts happening! at the end of the day, you can't make her like them...with me its cause they give me funny dreams and wake me up at night. he is happy for me to snore and cuddle him, but less happy about the drooling that occurs when i am soring!!!
I think you should just accept that she doesn't like them. My bloke loves James Bond films, but he knows I'll never watch them and isn't offended if I get on with something else whilst they're on.
Similarly, he hates Eastenders, so I don't object when he leaves the room and disappears into his garage when it's on.
It's all about mutual respect and a little bit of give and take. We've gone 29 years on that little maxim, so it must have some value.

Ok you love horror so much surely your wife (to be) will support this. So in true genre style, put on a wiered face, grab a kitchen whisk and look menacing, when she submits in fear of your threatening utensil tie her up, bound and gag her and sit her next to you on the sofa then put on the dvd of choice. Actually u probably wouldn't need a dvd after that.
