Psychic cats?

Do cats have an imagination?  Do they have such a capability? Or could it be that they can see things we can't?  I have seen my younger cat chase 'imaginary' prey around the kitchen floor at ground level, stalking it and pouncing and chasing it as if it were a mouse, but there was nothing to see, not even a small insect or spider.  I have seen my older cat sit and miaow at my bedroom wall and 'follow' something.  He even stood up on his hind legs and tried to reach up, miaowing and reaching and pawing all the way round three walls of the room, yet I examined closely and there was absolutely nothing to see.  Can anyone explain this?

My cat does the same thing, I think they do see things we don't why would they do other wise?
Once I thought my cat was chasing an invisible mouse, he kept jumping up at the wall but every time I turned round to see, there was nothing there.  A few minutes later I relaised he was jumping at sunlight refelcting off my watch onto the wall, which of course disappeared when I turned round!
