Hello, I have been trying to update my Ipod touch to the new 2.0 from the Itunes website but everytime my Ipod id not recognised. I had to send 1 away and this is the replacement. It connected to Itunes ok, updated itself to my last version before 2.0 but when trying to install 2.0 a message came up stating that an error had occurred and now its not connecting properly.
I have uninstalled Itunes and the 2 Apple programmes, reinstalled said items and still nothing. In fact now I get a message in bottom right on task bar stating that the USB device has malfunctioned.

Please does anyone have any other idea or should I try and get another replacement?

It doesnt help when your PC has a tendancy to restart itself with no warning just a click and its bios time!!!!

Sounds like it's the fault of your PC, not the iPod.

Is iPod connected directly to a main USB port on the computer, and not through a hub or other device?
